Thank you for adding my picture, Blue Vase. You have a nice collection here of tasteful images. It has always been an important part of the art tradition to be able to work from 'masters' who show us how it should be. I share small versions of all of my pictures for those who are interested in seeing.

Thank you for adding my Pencil portrait of a squirrel to your favourites.  This drawing was made following a request to a photographer to draw from an 'All rights reserved' photo - he was kind enough to give his consent.
It has been my policy since I joined dA always to thank for favourites (it seemed the right thing to do) but I fear that I may have to reconsider this as the numbers sometimes overwhelm me and can get me down.

This squirrel is awesome and I added it specially for my granddaughter (she tries to draw and needs pieces deserved to imitate). So I thank you very much.
When I started my dA activity I thanked everyone for every fav. It's old dA tradition. But as you become popular it becomes physically impossible! So do not worry about it, you are popular. I guess most of us are here to post pictures, paitings etc, it's main goal. There are many other social networks for plain communications:)

I think you are wrong.  When I have been able to identify the photographer of a photo that I have seen on the internet which does not have a CC licence and have contacted them, or their agent, to ask permission to draw and upload to dA, I often get no response, not even a 'Sorry, no'.  There are exceptions, of course, such as Steve McCurry; my   Afghan Girl l and  Tibetan Boy drawings are from his photos.

I think you are right about professionals who earn money this way or just have a little delusion of grandeur and don't condescend to somebody. Any amateur would not prohibit to use his pictures. Anyway I always wonder how photographer can be owner of rights to depict somebody's exterior. Photographer doesn't invent faces, figures, light etc. He just catches it. An artist can do it (or God, or nature).
